President Trump in a recent interview with Hugh Hewitt, a conservative radio host, indicated any college with antisemitism problems should have its tax-exempt status pulled, a change he has already called for at Harvard University.<\/p>\n
\u201cAre you going to push that for every university where the antisemitism gets out of control?\u201d the host asked the president on \u201cThe Hugh Hewitt Show.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cI think so, yes,\u201d Trump responded. \u00a0<\/p>\n
He has repeatedly called for Harvard to lose its exempt status, saying \u201cit\u2019s what they deserve.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
Harvard, which is suing the Trump administration over cuts to its federal funding, has called the tax threat \u201chighly illegal,\u201d and legal experts note the president is not allowed to call for IRS audits or reveal whether a particular organization is under audit. \u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019re going to look for that where we find them. Sometimes it is out of control, and sometimes you don\u2019t see it, it\u2019s not so obvious,\u201d Trump said, referring to antisemitism on campuses.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cWith Harvard, it was very obvious. You look at it, totally antisemitic,\u201d he added before chastising the Ivy League school for recent data showing only 3 percent of faculty is conservative.\u00a0<\/p>\n
