Patrick Morrisey (R) on Monday said he will take legal action against the NCAA over West Virginia University\u2019s (WVU) snub from the March Madness tournament.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI&#8217;ve asked Attorney General [JB McCuskey] to launch an investigation into the NCAA tournament selection committee to determine if any backyard deals, backroom deals, corruption, bribes or any nefarious activity occurred during the selection process,\u201d Morrisey said during a Monday <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/wvgovernor\/status\/1901681440506446301\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">press conference<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The WVU Mountaineers <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncaa.com\/march-madness-live\/bracket\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">are not a part<\/a> of this year\u2019s March Madness tournament, which also includes the storied men\u2019s basketball teams of Duke University, Gonzaga University and the University of Kansas. The Mountaineers are also not ranked in The Associated Press\u2019s poll of <a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/hub\/ap-top-25-college-basketball-poll\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">the top 25 men\u2019s<\/a> college basketball teams.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMany of us were looking to see how WVU was going to be seated in the tournament,\u201d Morrisey said Monday. \u201cNearly every single sports fan, pundit, bracketologist, everyone had [WVU] as a shoe-in for the tournament.
